Why it exists
Running autonomous agents and automation across heterogeneous machines creates fragmentation. Theremin provides a normalized control plane, CDP browser automation, and fleet mesh capabilities without giving raw credentials to autonomous workers.
What it does
- Provider-neutral Chrome CDP driver supporting headed browsing, observation, and safe take-control handoff.
- Cross-device bridge protocol linking WinLab, Mac, Ubuntu server, and local network devices.
- Session restart reconciliation and state persistence ensuring crashed or rebooted processes are never reported as active.
- Strict capability-gated RPC interface protecting host actions and filesystem boundaries.
Development approach
- Safety and lease control — autonomous agents pause immediately when an operator takes control.
- Honest operational status: no mock nodes, simulated pings, or fabricated health metrics.
- Minimal attack surface with default-deny network postures and Tailscale peer verification.
